3. Information We Collect
We collect information in three main ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information we receive from third parties or other users.
3.1 Information You Provide to Us
When you create or manage an account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, password or authentication information, account type, location, profile settings, and communication preferences. For employer accounts, we may also collect company name, industry, business address, job posting information, hiring preferences, and information about authorized representatives.
Job seekers may provide profile information such as work experience, skills, education, availability, job interests, career preferences, credentials, resumé-style information, and other details they choose to include in their profile or application materials. Employers may provide job descriptions, eligibility requirements, scheduling information, screening criteria, and other hiring-related information.
The Service allows users to create, upload, view, and share video profiles and video applications. Video content may include your image, voice, appearance, statements, background, surroundings, and any personal information you choose to disclose in the recording. If we generate transcripts, captions, thumbnails, metadata, or other technical information from video or audio content, we may treat that information as part of your video-related information.
We collect information from your communications with us, including support requests, feedback, surveys, inquiries, and other correspondence. We may also process messages and communications exchanged through the Service to deliver the communication, support safety and security, investigate misuse, resolve disputes, and improve the Service.
If you purchase a paid subscription or other paid feature, we may collect billing-related information such as billing name, billing address, subscription status, transaction history, and limited payment details. Payment card numbers and other complete payment credentials are processed by third-party payment processors, and HireMeUp does not intentionally store complete payment card information on its own servers.
3.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect device, usage, and log information. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, mobile network information, unique device identifiers, referring and exit pages, pages or screens viewed, search activity, clicks, scrolls, time spent on pages, features used, error logs, and date and time stamps.
With your permission, we may collect precise location information from your device to provide location-based services, improve job matching, display relevant opportunities, support safety and security, and help prevent fraud. You can usually control device location permissions through your browser or mobile device settings. If you disable precise location, some features may be less accurate or unavailable.
We may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, analyze usage, personalize content, measure marketing performance, and improve the Service. More information appears in the Cookies and Tracking Technologies section below.
3.3 Information from Third Parties and Other Users
If you choose to connect a third-party account, such as a social media account or integration partner, we may receive information from that service according to your settings, your authorization, and the third party’s privacy practices. You should review the privacy settings and policies of any third-party service before connecting it to HireMeUp.
If you provide professional references, we may collect reference names, contact information, relationship details, and feedback about your work performance or qualifications. You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to provide another person’s contact information to the Service.
HireMeUp does not conduct, order, facilitate, or process employment background checks through the Service. If an employer independently requires a background check, that process is handled outside HireMeUp and is subject to the employer’s and any third-party provider’s separate notices, authorizations, and privacy practices.
Employers, job seekers, references, and other users may provide information about you when they interact with the Service, submit feedback, communicate with you, review applications, report concerns, or participate in hiring-related activity.
4. Video, Voice, Biometric, and Automated Processing
Because HireMeUp is a video-based hiring platform, we want to be clear about how video and audio information may be handled.
We may process video and audio content to make the content available through the Service, create thumbnails or previews, generate captions or transcripts, support accessibility, improve streaming quality, detect technical issues, review content for safety or policy compliance, and support job matching or candidate recommendations.
We may use automated tools to help operate and improve the Service. These tools may support functions such as detecting low-quality uploads, identifying prohibited or inappropriate content, improving search and matching relevance, recommending job opportunities, recommending candidates, and improving the user experience. Unless we provide a separate notice and obtain any legally required consent, we do not use facial recognition or voice recognition to identify users, and we do not create biometric identifiers or biometric templates for the purpose of identifying a person.
HireMeUp is designed to support human connection between job seekers and employers. Automated tools may help organize, recommend, or improve the Service, but employers remain responsible for their own hiring decisions. Employers are responsible for complying with applicable employment, anti-discrimination, accommodation, notice, and automated decision-tool laws that apply to their hiring practices.
If we later introduce features that use biometric identifiers, facial recognition, voice recognition, emotion recognition, personality scoring, or other sensitive automated assessments, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required by law before using those features.
5. How We Use Information
We use personal information to provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service. This includes creating accounts, authenticating users, enabling job seekers to create profiles and applications, enabling employers to post jobs and review candidates, facilitating connections between users, processing applications, delivering messages, operating subscriptions, and providing customer support.
We use profile information, preferences, activity, location information, job posting information, and other relevant data to improve job matching, candidate recommendations, search results, and user experience. Matching and recommendation tools are intended to help users find relevant opportunities or candidates, not to replace lawful, individualized, human hiring judgment.
We use video and audio content to enable viewing, sharing, hosting, streaming, moderation, accessibility, and matching-related functionality. We may also use information to troubleshoot technical issues, detect misuse, prevent fraud, improve performance, develop new features, conduct testing, and understand how users interact with the Service.
We use contact information to send account-related messages, service announcements, security alerts, administrative notices, support responses, transactional messages, and updates about applications, matches, job postings, subscriptions, or other Service activity. With consent where required, we may also send promotional emails, newsletters, offers, or other marketing communications. Users may opt out of marketing communications as described in the message or through available account settings.
We may use information for analytics, research, reporting, and product development. Where possible and appropriate, we use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for trend analysis, market research, internal reporting, and Service improvement.
We may use information to comply with law, enforce our Terms & Conditions, prevent fraud, protect user safety, investigate suspicious or harmful activity, resolve disputes, protect our rights and property, respond to lawful requests, and maintain records required for legal, accounting, security, or operational purposes.
6. How We Share Information
We share information as needed to operate the Service, as directed by user activity, as described in this Privacy Policy, or with your consent.
6.1 Sharing with Other Users
When a job seeker creates a profile, applies for a job, responds to an employer, or otherwise chooses to make information available through the Service, profile information, video content, application materials, location information, availability, preferences, and other relevant information may be visible to employers or employer representatives. Job seekers should not include information in their profiles or videos that they do not want employers to see.
Employer profiles, job postings, company descriptions, business contact information, job requirements, hiring preferences, and related content may be visible to job seekers and other users through the Service.
When users communicate through the Service, we share message content, sender and recipient information, timestamps, and related communication data with the participants in the communication. In some cases, contact information may be shared between matched or interacting parties to facilitate communication, scheduling, interviewing, or hiring activity.
6.2 Service Providers
We may share information with trusted vendors, contractors, and service providers who help us operate the Service. These may include cloud hosting providers, database providers, analytics services, payment processors, customer support tools, security providers, email and messaging providers, push notification providers, video hosting or processing providers, fraud-prevention vendors, and professional advisors.
These service providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to HireMeUp or as otherwise permitted by law or contract.
6.3 Background Checks
HireMeUp does not conduct, order, facilitate, or process employment background checks through the Service. If an employer independently requires a background check, that process is handled outside HireMeUp and is subject to the employer’s and any third-party provider’s separate notices, authorizations, and privacy practices.
Employers are responsible for ensuring that any background-check request, screening process, hiring decision, adverse action, or related process conducted outside the Service complies with applicable law.
6.4 Integration Partners and Third-Party Services
If you choose to connect, authorize, or use third-party integrations, we may share information with those third parties as directed by you or as needed to provide the integration. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and HireMeUp is not responsible for their independent privacy practices.
6.5 Business Transfers
If HireMeUp is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, personal information may be disclosed to parties involved in the transaction and transferred as part of that transaction. If ownership or control of personal information changes in a material way, we will provide notice as required by law.
6.6 Legal, Safety, and Compliance Disclosures
We may disclose information when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; enforce our Terms & Conditions; protect the rights, property, or safety of HireMeUp, users, or others; detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, security incidents, or harmful activity; or resolve disputes.
6.7 Aggregated, De-Identified, or Anonymized Information
We may share aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for research, analytics, reporting, marketing, business, or other lawful purposes. We will not attempt to re-identify information that we maintain as de-identified except as permitted by law, such as to test whether our de-identification processes are effective.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Service. Cookies are small files placed on your browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels, web beacons, SDKs, local storage, and device identifiers.
| Type of Technology | Purpose | Can It Be Disabled? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential technologies | Login, authentication, account security, load balancing, fraud prevention, and core Service functions | Some may not be disabled because the Service requires them to function |
| Functional technologies | Remembering preferences, settings, saved searches, and personalization choices | Usually through browser, device, or account settings |
| Analytics technologies | Understanding usage, improving performance, testing features, diagnosing errors | Often through browser settings, device settings, or provider opt-out tools |
| Marketing technologies | Measuring campaigns, understanding referrals, and delivering or evaluating promotional content | Often through cookie controls, browser settings, and advertising opt-out tools |
You can control cookies through your browser settings. You may also be able to control mobile identifiers through device settings. If you disable certain technologies, some Service features may not work properly.
If we use advertising partners, retargeting pixels, cross-context behavioral advertising, or similar marketing technologies that constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will provide any required notice and opt-out method. If we do not engage in those practices, we will maintain disclosures consistent with that practice.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These safeguards may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication measures, monitoring, vendor oversight, employee training, vulnerability management, and incident response processes.
Despite these efforts, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their account credentials, use strong passwords, keep devices secure, and notify us promptly if they suspect unauthorized access to their account.
If we discover a data security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notices to affected users, regulators, or other parties as required by applicable law.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business operations.
| Information Type | General Retention Approach |
|---|---|

| Location information | Retained only as long as reasonably necessary for location-based features, security, compliance, or user-selected functionality |
When personal information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, de-identify, or securely retain it in accordance with applicable law and our retention practices. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before deletion in the ordinary course of business.

You may access and update certain account, profile, preference, and communication information through your account settings. You may be able to control profile visibility, edit or delete profile content, update job preferences, manage communication preferences, disable push notifications, and adjust location permissions through the Service or your device settings.

Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send transactional or administrative messages, such as account notices, security alerts, billing notices, and Service-related communications.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of personal information, portability of information, restriction or limitation of certain processing, withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent, objection to certain processing, or opt out of certain uses such as targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in the Contact Information section below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Verification may require us to match information you provide with information associated with your account. In some cases, we may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, such as where we need to retain information for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or completion of a transaction.
Authorized agents may submit requests on behalf of a user where permitted by law. We may require proof of authorization and may also require the user to verify their identity directly with us, unless otherwise prohibited by law.
